Welcome to Grant Park for the Holidays!
Scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 12 and Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009, the Grant Park Candlelight Tour of Homes is a special weekend that has become a holiday tradition for residents and visitors alike. We’re sure you'll understand why some say these are the best 2 nights of the year to visit Grant Park, and why this event was once again voted “Best Holiday Lights & Decorations” by Atlanta INtown paper.

This year, eight homes on the Tour continue to capture the essence of intown living and the history of our city. Ranging from Craftsman bungalows to grand Victorians, they're all beautifully illuminated by candlelight and have been lovingly decorated for the holidays.

The Tour begins at St. Paul United Methodist Church where ticketholders pick up their tour booklets and are treated to hot cider and an opportunity to visit Santa earlier in the day on Saturday at the "Winter in the Forest" Children's celebration. Plus, there's an eclectic and ever-growing Artists' Market at the church during Tour hours, where you’ll find unique gifts for your shopping list, including works of art ranging from pottery, textiles, glassware, paintings, handmade jewelry and even children’s clothing.

As you visit and learn about each house, you’ll appreciate the unique style each home brings to the neighborhood. Some exhibit many years of tender loving care by only a handful of homeowners, while others have been bought back from the brink of destruction through visionary and historically-conscious renovations. Either way, restoration, redecoration and good ole’ holiday spirit will fill the air as you journey through our little place in time here in downtown Atlanta.

While you’re strolling about on this chilly evening, be sure to listen out for the carolers on an old-fashioned hayride, serenading and bringing holiday cheer to each home on the Tour. And as you enjoy the awe-inspiring, turn-of-the-century homes by candlelight, also let your hearts be warmed knowing that your contribution to our neighborhood is greatly appreciated and put to good use. All of the proceeds, including the contributions given by our generous sponsors, benefit the following organizations that support our families and enrich our neighborhood:
On behalf of these three groups, the Tour Committee thanks you for joining us and strengthening the Grant Park community.

Tickets may be be purchased in advance for $12 or on either day of the Tour for $15. Tickets may be purchased online or at sponsoring businesses in the Grant Park area.
